We welcome you to join us for the annual Honorary Dinner, October 5, 2023, during the STAR Conference, at the Molly Pitcher Inn, Red Bank, NJ. This year we will recognize the accomplishments and contributions to our community of Michele Ford, Jeffrey Haines and Susan Perron.
Michele Ford has worked to help people find meaningful employment for over 40 years; 30 of those years at Inroads to Opportunities. During her tenure, the Occupational Center of Union County became Inroads to Opportunities and has grown to include 3 locations and a café.
“I never left, because I have a passion for the people; the most undervalued and valuable people I work with everyday.”
Jeffery Haines has worked at the Occupational Training Center of Burlington County since 1975. When he started they were a small organization serving about 30 individuals. That number has grown tremendously and they now serve nearly 200 in the center and over 200 in outside employment in addition to residential homes and facilities.
“It’s such a great place to be, the comradery, just the idea that we’ve been able to give people an atmosphere where they feel safe and happy. No matter how bad you feel sometimes you go out there it just picks you right up.”
Susan Perron has led Abilities Solutions for nearly 30 years with advocacy, training, and providing employment services. In addition to the center, they operate Bagelicious Café and Catering.
“We all deserve the opportunity to grow. We all deserve to have a choice in employment.”
Let us come together to share a meal and memories as we honor the careers of these passionately dedicated members of the ACCSES NJ family. Uniquely individual in their approach to life, they shared the same passion and committed their careers to serve people with disabilities. Join us as we offer our sincere gratitude for their years of service, meaningful insight, thought-provoking conversations, and the generous sharing of their opinions over the years.
